Solo Hunters Stat Allocation Guide

Master the stat system and avoid the common mistakes that ruin builds. Learn the math behind optimal stat distribution.

Critical: The Bucket Allocation Trap

The #1 mistake new players make is spreading stat points evenly across all attributes. This creates a character that's mediocre at everything and excels at nothing.

Bad: Bucket Allocation

STR: 25 | MAG: 25 | AGI: 25 | DEF: 25

Result: Can't break enemy defense thresholds, deals minimal damage

Good: Focused Allocation

STR: 100 | MAG: 0 | AGI: 0 | DEF: 0

Result: Breaks defense thresholds, deals full damage

1. How Stats Work (The Math)

Strength (STR)

Physical Damage = Base × (1 + STR × 0.02)

  • Increases physical attack damage
  • Affects heavy weapon penetration
  • Required for Greatsword/Scythe effectiveness

Scaling: Linear - each point adds ~2% damage

Magic (MAG)

Spell Damage = Base × (1 + MAG × 0.025)

  • Increases spell power
  • Increases mana pool
  • Affects healing effectiveness

Scaling: Slightly exponential - better at high values

Agility (AGI)

Attack Speed = Base × (1 + AGI × 0.01)

  • Increases attack speed (SPA reduction)
  • Increases critical hit rate
  • Increases movement speed

Scaling: Diminishing returns after 150 AGI

Defense (DEF)

Damage Taken = Raw × (100 / (100 + DEF))

  • Reduces incoming damage
  • Increases HP pool
  • Required for late-game survival

Scaling: Diminishing returns - first 50 points most valuable

Key Insight: Multiplicative vs Additive

Stats in Solo Hunters are multiplicative with your base damage. This means 100 points in one stat is MUCH better than 50 points in two stats.

Example (100 base damage):

50 STR + 50 MAG = 100 × 2.0 × 1.0 = 200 damage (physical only)

100 STR + 0 MAG = 100 × 3.0 × 1.0 = 300 damage

2. Defense Thresholds Explained

Enemies have defense values that create "thresholds". If your attack stat is below the threshold, your damage is severely reduced. This is why focused builds are essential.

Enemy Defense Thresholds by Area

AreaEnemy LevelDefense ThresholdRecommended Stat
Starting Zone1-102030+ (easy)
Forest Dungeon10-255060+
Cave System25-40100120+
Demon Castle40-50180200+
Raid Bosses50+250+300+ or Divine Blade

Why Divine Blade is S-Tier

Divine Blade deals true damage that ignores enemy defense entirely. This makes it essential for high-level content where even maxed stats struggle to break defense thresholds.

3. Optimal Builds by Class

Swordsman

Melee DPS / Off-Tank

Primary: Strength

Early (1-25)

100% STR

Mid (25-45)

90% STR / 10% DEF

Late (45+)

80% STR / 20% DEF

Strength directly scales your melee damage and weapon effectiveness. Defense becomes important in late game to survive boss mechanics.

Best Runes: Shadow Scythe, Divine Blade, Crimson

Wizard

Ranged AOE / Control

Primary: Magic

Early (1-25)

100% MAG

Mid (25-45)

100% MAG

Late (45+)

100% MAG

Magic scales exponentially. Wizards rely on killing enemies before they get close, so Defense is unnecessary. Mana pool also scales with Magic.

Best Runes: Crimson, Light, Darkness

Assassin

Single Target DPS

Primary: Agility

Early (1-25)

80% AGI / 20% STR

Mid (25-45)

80% AGI / 20% STR

Late (45+)

70% AGI / 20% STR / 10% DEF

Agility increases attack speed and crit rate, which synergizes with on-hit effects. Some Strength is needed for base damage scaling.

Best Runes: Shadow Strike, Poison, Divine Blade

Ranger

Sustained Physical DPS

Primary: Agility

Early (1-25)

100% AGI

Mid (25-45)

100% AGI

Late (45+)

90% AGI / 10% DEF

Rangers kite enemies, so attack speed and movement speed from Agility are essential. Defense only needed for unavoidable boss attacks.

Best Runes: Piercing Shot, Multi-Arrow, Light

Tank

Damage Absorption

Primary: Defense

Early (1-25)

70% DEF / 30% STR

Mid (25-45)

70% DEF / 30% STR

Late (45+)

60% DEF / 40% STR

Defense has diminishing returns, so you need some Strength to maintain threat generation. Pure Defense tanks deal no damage and lose aggro.

Best Runes: Goliath, Iron Skin, Taunt

Healer

Support / Sustain

Primary: Magic

Early (1-25)

100% MAG

Mid (25-45)

100% MAG

Late (45+)

90% MAG / 10% DEF

Healing scales with Magic. Healers should never be taking damage in group content, but some Defense helps in emergencies.

Best Runes: Light, Restoration, Barrier

4. Stat Progression by Level

Stat Points Per Level

You receive 5 stat points per level. Here's how your total points accumulate:

LevelTotal PointsSwordsman Example
105050 STR
25125125 STR
40200180 STR / 20 DEF
50250200 STR / 50 DEF
60+300+240 STR / 60 DEF

Golden Rule

Never invest in Defense before Level 30. Early game enemies don't deal enough damage to justify it. Focus entirely on your primary damage stat to clear content faster.

5. When to Reset Stats

The RESETMYSTATS code gives you one free stat reset. Use it wisely!

Good Reasons to Reset

  • • You did bucket allocation and can't progress
  • • You want to switch from solo to group content
  • • You reached endgame and need to optimize
  • • You got a new weapon that scales differently

Bad Reasons to Reset

  • • You're still learning the game (wait!)
  • • You want to try a "fun" build
  • • You're below Level 30
  • • You haven't researched optimal builds yet

Stat Reset Checklist

Before using your reset, make sure you:

  • ✓ Know exactly what build you want
  • ✓ Have the weapons/runes to support that build
  • ✓ Understand the stat thresholds for your content
  • ✓ Won't regret it in a week
